WWE is stacking up on European talent, but when it comes to PROGRESS World Champion Luke Jacobs, the situation isnt so cut and dry.
Fightful Select reports that while names like Zozaya, Mike D Vecchio, and Aigle Blanc are all expected to sign with WWE this September following their standout performances at WWEs UK tryout, Jacobs status remains in limbo.
Jacobs impressed at the tryout prior to WrestleMania, the report states, noting that multiple sources across the European scene believe Jacobs is on his way to WWE. One source even close to Jacobs said they believed Jacobs would sign with WWE this year. But not everyone agrees. Another source said they believe Jacobs will not be signing with the promotion.
So far, WWE has made moves on three names expected to land in the companys developmental system this fall. Zozaya, a standout in Spain and the UK, joins Mike D Vecchio from Belgium and Frances Aigle Blancboth of whom bring experience from wXw, RevPro, and All Japan Pro Wrestling. The signings are reportedly being handled by WWE recruiter James Amner.
Theres still no confirmation on Jacobs despite strong interest and performance at the tryout. With WWE investing in European talent again and rumors around NXT Europes return gaining steam, his name remains one to watch closely.
Do you think Luke Jacobs is WWE-bound, or will he continue dominating Europe a while longer? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know how you see this playing out.
