The May 20 episode of WWE NXT served as the final episode before Battleground this Sunday. You never know what can happen in Shawn Michaels brand, and that included a big match for the womens division.
One featured match saw Kelani Jordan face Zaria. If Jordan won, she would earn a future opportunity at Sol Rucas NXT Womens North American Title.
This match went down during the second hour of the show this week. Zaria came out with a ton of confidence, promising Sol Ruca that she would protect her Womens North American Championship. Naturally, Kelani, who was the first woman to hold that belt, wants another run with the championship.
This was a hard-hitting contest, as things moved to ringside and Zaria slung Kelani Jordan against the barricade. They cut to commercial as the two women continued going at it. Zaria eventually landed a cannonball that shocked the NXT Arena as they had to censor holy sh*t chants.
This match carried on and Zaria accidentally knocked Sol Ruca off the apron. Then Kelani Jordan got a roll-up pin on her to win the match. Now Kelani will face Sol Ruca at Battleground for the NXT Womens North American Title.
We will have to see what happens in the NXT Womens North American Title picture from this point on. Anything is possible at this point, because the NXT brand is always likely to surprise fans.
