Sabu was one of the few wrestlers who truly changed the world of professional wrestling in a big way. Sadly, he passed away at the age of 60 recently, and now it appears that a documentary about his final match was already in the works before his passing.
A videographer named Joey DeFalco shared on Facebook that it felt eerie to realize he had just been filming Sabu for a documentary about his final match during WrestleMania weekend. The post included several clips from Sabus final match which were going to be used for the documentary.
DeFalco ended his message by saying rest in peace to Sabu, saying, Eerie to think I was just filming Sabu for the Documentary of his Final Match over WrestleMania Weekend. Rest in Peace Terry.
Sabus final match took place at GCW Joey Janelas Spring Break 9, where he squared off against Joey Janela in a No Rope Barbed Wire match. It was incredibly violent and saw Sabu take some nasty bumps but he was ultimately able to beat Joey Janela in the final match of his career and fans feel that was the best send-off Sabu could have gotten.
The pro wrestling world has been mourning Sabus passing as it is undoubtedly one of the biggest losses in recent memory. Sabu had a massive impact on pro wrestling. His matches helped shape what ECW was all about, and his fearless style inspired many wrestlers after him. As people continue to honor his memory now, the upcoming documentary feels even more important than ever before and so well have to see how it turns out.
