Nearly two decades after WWE legend John Tentabest known as Earthquakepassed away, his daughter is stepping into the ring to carry on his legacy.
Joanna Tenta, daughter of the late WWE Hall of Famer, revealed on The Kelly Clarkson Show that shes currently training to become a professional wrestler. Earthquake, who formed the powerhouse tag team The Natural Disasters with Typhoon (Fred Ottman), passed away from bladder cancer on June 7, 2006. He was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2025 alongside Ottman.
Joanna, now pursuing her own wrestling journey, opened up about the emotional inspiration behind her decision. When I was younger, I used to love watching wrestling. When I was 15, I told my dad that I wanted to do what he did, she said. After he died, I stopped watching wrestling for almost 17 years. I tuned back in during WrestleMania 39 and remembered why I loved wrestling so much.
She made the leap in 2024, starting her training at Absolute Intense Wrestling. Even though I was older now, I wanted to learn and train to be a pro wrestler for the joy of it, she shared. So Ive learned so much about how to trust in my body, to believe in myself, to work hard. But most importantlyand what I sought afteris that it has formed a new and special connection with my dad.
Earthquake left a lasting mark on the wrestling world, and now Joanna Tenta is working to create her own. While she still has a long road ahead, her motivation comes from a deeply personal placeand fans are already rooting for her to succeed.
