Dr. Carlon M. Colker and Peak Wellness Inc. have fired back with legal action of their own in the ongoing saga surrounding Janel Grants sex trafficking lawsuit against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. On May 2, Colker filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court of Connecticut targeting Grants attorney, Ann Callis, and the Holland Law Firm, accusing them of defamation and malicious intent.
The 41-page lawsuit claims Callis falsely tied Colker to unethical medical behavior during press conferences and in a press release linked to Grants lawsuit. According to Colker, those statements were not only false and defamatory but also made outside legal proceedings, meaning they are not protected under litigation privilege.
Colker claims that medical records clearly refute the accusationsrecords that were sent directly to Callis legal team and even acknowledged by Erica Nolan of Holland Law in a receipt dated July 16, 2024. The suit argues that Callis had access to the medical records yet still made false claims in public forums that damaged his career and reputation.
The lawsuit outlines several clear denials, stating:
- At no point was Patient forced to undergo intravenous infusions,
- At no point was Patient ever administered or directed to take unknown substances, and
- At no point did Dr. Colker personally administer any injections to Patient.
It also claims the patientpresumed to be Janel Grant based on contexthad been seen over 60 times, actively participated in her treatment decisions, and ended care in April 2022 without any indication of dissatisfaction or concern.
Colker is seeking both compensatory and punitive damages and alleges Callis acted with malice by knowingly spreading falsehoods to major media outlets and social platforms. The Holland Law Firm is also being targeted for allegedly failing to supervise Callis actions properly. As of now, the defendants have not yet been served.
