Jackson Drake is still the NXT North American Champion after unexpected assistance led to a successful defense over EK Prosper on Tuesday night's episode of "WWE NXT."Per usual, Drake arrived to this match with his Vanity Project stablemates: Brad Baylor, Ricky Smokes, and Myka Lockwood. Also per usual, Lockwood sneakily distracted Drake's challenger, in this case by grabbing Prosper's leg as the referee checked on Drake. The defending champion capitalized by launching Prosper into the ring ropes.Drake later hit a springboard Spanish Fly and a cutter for a near fall. Frustrated, Drake then ascended to the top rope, where a headbutt sent Prosper crashing to the mat below. The high-flier didn't stay down long, though, as he sent Drake flying next, courtesy of a hurricanrana. Prosper followed with a leg lariat, and after fighting off Baylor and Smokes, Prosper landed a poisonrana as well.In the title match's closing moments, Prosper went up top for a moonsault, but before he could execute it, Lockwood hopped up to the apron to distract the referee. At the same time, Kam Hemdrix pushed Prosper off the turnbuckle, allowing Drake to deliver a Shining Wizard for the win.Drake captured the NXT North American Championship by defeating Myles Borne at "NXT" Heatwave on August 30. Since then, he's successfully defended it against Tavion Heights, and now Prosper, on "NXT" television. Fellow Vanity Project members Baylor and Smokes reign as the NXT Tag Team Champions, losing toRomeo Moreno and Noam Dar in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic semi-finals earlier on tonight's broadcast.
