A major name behind-the-scenes in WWE is set to depart the company next year following WWE WrestleMania 43, according to a new report. PWInsider reported on Tuesday that, as confirmed by multiple sources, Bruce Prichard, executive director of creative writing and talent, is set to retire from his role in WWE following next year's "Showcase of the Immortals."According to PWInsider, Prichard will remain connected to WWE as a consultant after leaving his current role. A source noted that while Prichard's current run with the company is rumored to end with WrestleMania, things could always change, as is the nature of the industry.Prichard began his professional wrestling career at just 10 years old, starting by selling posters for Paul Boesch's Houston Wrestling in 1973. He started working for the then-WWFW in 1987, occasionally as an announcer, before creating his Brother Love gimmick. He was let go from the company after the character was retired in early 1991, but would return in August 1992 as Vince McMahon's "right-hand man" behind-the-scenes, as well as in a writer position, in addition to returning as a new on-screen character. He was released once again in 2008, and worked for TNA and MLW before his final return to the company in 2019, when he joined WWE's creative team.As of June 2020, Prichard holds the position of executive director of both "WWE Raw" and "WWE SmackDown."According to PWI's report, it's believed that writers in "WWE NXT" also fall under Prichard's management. The outlet also reported there is currently no word on who will take up Prichard's current role when he departs the company.
