In May 2025, Jacy Jayne finally captured singles gold when she defeated Stephanie Vaquer for the NXT Women's Championshipwith help from Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx. The aftermath put Jayne and Fatal Influence at the top of the division, and created a wave of momentum that she's been riding ever since, making her way to the main roster.During an interview withDenise Salcedo, Jayne looked back at the match and her state of mind when she picked up the win. "It didn't really feel like it was happening," she recalled. "I felt like I was having almost an out-of-body experience that day." Jayne explained that she envisioned the moment happening for so long, but when it finally arrived, she was in disbelief. The online reaction to Jayne's victory was largely negative, as many fans were unhappy to see one of "NXT's" biggest babyfaces,Vaquer, lose her title after being cheated out of it. Vaquer's reign ultimately lasted just 77 days. But according to Jayne, the criticisms didn't bother her in the slightest. "You couldn't write anything better! People were so mad," she recalled. She then pointed out how she was viewed as an "underdog" for a long time, which didn't make sense to her, especially after everything she accomplished in "NXT." "I really don't know what I have to do to show everyone that I am 'ThatGirl.' I am the 'ItGirl!'"While she can't seem to wrap her head around the things fans say online, Jayne claims that she loves the hate she gets and especially loves when people underestimate her or crowds boo her. "It just keeps making me work harder and it makes me want it more, 'cause I love to rub it in your face," she said.If you use any quotes from this article, please credit DeniseSalcedo, and provide a h/t to Wrestling Inc. for the transcription.
