Last month, the world lost both Andy "The Butcher" Williams and Pac, only weeks apart from each other.Speaking to TVInsider, AEW star Samoa Joe was asked about the atmosphere backstage following his recent return and he shared how the locker room has dealt with losing both men so close together."There's no real established protocol beyond how anybody grieves amongst friends and loved ones," Joe said. "I think in times like this, we try to be there for each other and available for that late-night call if you need to talk about it or something like that."Joe feels the loss of Williams and Pac has resonated throughout the wrestling world, beyond just AEW, which reflects the impacts that both men made during their careers. He also believes that continuing to work has helped the locker room process the loss. "I think, if anything, we're grateful that we even have the opportunity to have the show go on," he continued.AEW honored both wrestlers with their own tribute shows, including 10-bell salutes. Williams' tribute was capped off with a 12-man battle royal on "AEW Collision," while the "AEW Dynamite" in honor of Pac featured a main event pitting his former Death Riders stablemates against The Don Callis Family in a 10-man tag team match.Joe also praised AEW President Tony Khan for his sensitivity toward the talent, along with emphasizing the solidarity shown in the locker room. "Ithink in these times we band together. We definitely cherish and have a better understanding that our time on this earth is precious," Joe said, honing in on what the loss has meant to him. "We should tell the people that we care about them, and we love them when we get the opportunity."
