Will Ospreay conquered his long-time rival Kazuchika Okada to retain the AEW World Championship in the main event of "AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam France."As expected, Ospreay vs. Okada contained a mix of hard-hitting moves and high-flying action. In the title match's closing moments, Ospreay backed Okada into the corner and nailed him with an enzuigiri. Okada blocked the standing corkscrew moonsault that followed, however.After the two traded strikes, Okada rolled to the apron, where Ospreay drove him into it with an Oscutter. The champion followed with a dropkick, only to fly into one from the challenger seconds later. A Rainmaker earned Okada a near fall. When he sought a second one, though, Ospreay ducked and hit one of his own for a one count. A Styles Clash produced a two count.Okada returned fire with a pair of successful Rainmakers, after which Ospreay unleashed a pair of Hidden Blades for another near fall. When a Storm Breaker couldn't keep Okada down either, Ospreay then took off his elbow pad to hit yet another Hidden Blade. This one left Okada shoulders on the mat for a full three count.Following his win over Okada, Ospreay will now pivot his focus to AEW WrestleDream, where he and seven others will compete in the first-ever Clockwork Carnage match. Samoa Joe secured his spot by defeating Jack Perry earlier on the Grand Slam France broadcast. The remaining six entrants have yet to be determined. Ospreay's AEW World Championship will be on the line."The Aerial Assassin" captured AEW's top prize by besting Kenny Omega at All In. After All Out, he laid out a challenge for Okada to face him at Grand Slam France, citing interest in rectifying past losses to "The Rainmaker."
