The team's first-round pick did not practice Thursday or Friday.Macdonald said he isn't sure how long Price will be sidelined."By no means is this JD's fault or anything like that," Macdonald said. "This is just what happens in football. Unfortunately, injuries happen. He can't control these things. He's done everything we've asked him to do since he got here. He's had a great attitude. He's been a great teammate. He has a great future. He's going to play great football for us when he comes back, whenever that is ... It's just unfortunate."The only other Seahawks with game designations are safety Ty Okada and backup linebacker Chazz Surratt (calf), who are both questionable. Okada was slated to start this season alongside Julian Love before suffering a hamstring injury that has kept him out of the first three games.Love, meanwhile, is expected to play Sunday after missing the Seahawks' loss to the Washington Commanders last week with a calf injury he suffered in practice. He was a full participant on Friday after limited participation Wednesday and Thursday.Price has started all three of Seattle's games, though he was briefly benched against Washington after losing his second fumble in as many weeks. He's totaled 119 rushing yards on 28 attempts, plus 21 receiving yards on four catches.Emmanuel Wilson (109 scrimmage yards on 32 touches) and George Holani (102 yards on 21 touches) are the next two options in the Seahawks' backfield. Velus Jones Jr. is the top candidate on their practice squad to be elevated, as Seattle has done twice this season."I'm excited to see these guys play," Macdonald said. "It's unfortunate with JD. Hopefully this gives him an opportunity to get healthy, but we've got guys that are ready to go behind him that are preparing their tails off and are good players, so we feel like we have a good plan and we'll go play a game."Zach Charbonnet is getting closer to re-joining Seattle's backfield. The Seahawks designated Charbonnet to return to practice on Thursday. The team's co-starter in 2025 is on the Physically Unable to Perform list while working his way back from February surgery to repair a torn ACL. He has to miss at least one more game.Charbonnet was listed as limited Thursday and Friday."Zach looks fantastic," Macdonald said. "There's a process to get him physically and mentally ready to go. We understand that, and we'll work with him and make sure he feels great when the time comes for him to come back."
