As AI becomes increasingly prevalent, holograms have already been used to bring deceased entertainers back for virtual performances. WWE has reportedly been using AI to generate storylines, and according to Kevin Nash and his cohost Sean Oliver during an episode of "Kliq This," there was once a proposal to use a hologram of Scott Hall for a Hall of Fame show or possibly a third induction following his death."I spent 30 years of my life withScott, and Scott wouldn't let that... I know Scott wouldn't let them do that to me," he expressed. Apparently, the rest of the Kliq members all looked to Nash to make the final call on this, and he claims he was the deciding vote."The Scott thing was so fresh, too. Like,Scott hadn't been gone very long..." he added, noting that it had only been about a year since his passing when the offer was made. "I'm just saying like... You know...I just believe in letting people f***ing... that have passed... leave them the f*** alone." He further argued that a dead person has no say in being used for something like AI, and more often than not, it's only done for the person's family or estate to financially profit from it. However, Nash expressed that it's fine if someone signs off on it before dying, but he takes issue with it being done on behalf of someone.Former WWE talent andlicensed attorney David Otunga addressed the possibility of WWE using AI to recreate or create matches between long-deceased wrestlers. Otunga pointed out how broad WWE contracts are and noted how many rights they have to wrestlers, arguing that WWE could legally someday have a "Bray Wyatt vs. Machoman RandySavage" match if they wanted to.If you use any quotes from this article, please credit "Kliq This," and provide a h/t toWrestling Inc. for the transcription.
