EmailPrintOpen Extended ReactionsGREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers have added some much-needed offensive line help by signing veteran guard Laken Tomlinson, according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.Tomlinson, 34, had been on the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad.The 2015 first-round pick has played in 173 career games but none since Week 17 of last season.The Packers (1-2) have started three different players at left guard in the first three games of the season. Preferred starter Aaron Banks has played in just one game due to toe and knee injuries. On the other side, first-year starter Jacob Monk has struggled at right guard.The Packers also lost starting right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele to a season-ending knee injury in Week 2.Tomlinson was the 28th pick in the 2015 NFL draft by the Lions. He has played in 162 career games among the Lions, 49ers, Jets, Seahawks and Texans. He made the Pro Bowl in 2021 with San Francisco.Jordan Love has been under heavy pressure this season. He was hit 15 times in Week 1 by the Vikings and 12 times in Thursday's loss to the Falcons.Through three games, the Packers have a pass block win rate of 16%, according to ESPN Research, the lowest by any team through the first three games of a season since the metric was first tracked in 2017.The run blocking hasn't been any better. The Packers rushed for just 17 yards against the Falcons and have averaged a league-worst 48.7 yards rushing per game.
