Instead of forcing a punt, the penalty extended Tennessee's drive at home in Neyland Stadium. The Vols, which trailed 10-3 at the time, got past midfield but did not get points after an incomplete pass on fourth down.Tennessee tied the game on a 56-yard punt return early in the third quarter.Simmons is widely regarded as one of the top defenders in the SEC and a possible first-round draft pick. ESPN draft expert Jason Reid had him fifth overall among draft-eligible prospects.He had back-to-back sacks on a drive in the third quarter. He did not celebrate after either play.
