Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn retained his title against Kevin Owens in the main event of "WWE SmackDown," but the end of the match was confusing. After CM Punk hit Owens with the belt and Zayn covered his challenger, the referee seemed to count to three. The bell didn't ring, however, and Zayn had to get Owens up for a Helluva Kick for a successful pin.Bully Ray broke down the messy ending on "Busted Open Radio," and said he saw the referee's hand hit the mat a third time, but didn't hear the usual noise of the count. He mentioned WWE's YouTube version of the match has been corrected, and he means the original version of the mistake."The referee's hand hits a third time, and then he gets up and he signals for the bell," he said. "But we never get it. For those of you who might be saying, 'Well, Kevin got his arm up.' No, he didn't. The only thing that came up off the mat was the back of Kevin's forearm and a tiny portion of his tricep... Every part of Kevin Owen's shoulders were on the mat for the three count.. Where the miscommunication happened, I don't know."Bully Ray said that over the last 10 years, he's been able to pinpoint where mistakes happen in the ring, no matter what company they occur in. For this, all he knows is the referee's hand hit the mat for three, and things went awry."Now, some people might have said... 'Oh, his hand didn't hit as hard for the third count,'" he said.
