EmailPrintOpen Extended ReactionsARLINGTON, Texas -- Dak Prescott stands atop another Dallas Cowboys record.With a 24-yard pass to CeeDee Lamb in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 37-20 win over the Washington Commanders, Prescott became the Cowboys' all-time leader in touchdown passes, surpassing Tony Romo with 249 in his career.Prescott's scoring throw was a slightly underthrown deep ball to Lamb with 3:13 left to play to provide the final margin.It also gave him four touchdowns on the day for his fifth four-TD game against the Commanders.Prescott put himself in position to break the record with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Lamb on the Cowboys' first possession of the game. In the second quarter, he hit Jake Ferguson with a simple 9-yard throw with the Cowboys tight end wide open in the end zone.He tied the record with his second touchdown of the game to Ferguson in the third quarter, firing a strike from 12 yards to the tight end, who was blanketed by safety Jeremy Reaves.Asked leading into the game about the possibility of breaking the record , Prescott said, "Blessed, humbled, thankful to have the opportunity to do so. This game has meant so, so much to me. It's always been, since as long as I can remember, peace, getting out there and just playing this game has given me peace and a level of excitement and joy that it's hard to even put into words. And to now put myself in that category, it's humbling, but I expect to play for a long time. And in my mind, I'm just getting started. I've said it before. I think records are meant to be broken when you're playing long enough and that's just this opportunity for me to do this."A fourth-round pick in 2016, Prescott was already the Cowboys' leader in passing yards (36,164 entering Sunday), completions (3,206), attempts (4,793), passer rating (98.2) and completion percentage (66.9%).Romo had 248 touchdown passes from 2006 to 2016 after not throwing a pass in the first three seasons of his career (2003-05).Prescott has thrown touchdown passes to 39 different players during his career.Lamb has the most touchdown receptions from Prescott with 37. Amari Cooper is second with 22. Among current Cowboys, Ferguson has 16, George Pickens has 9 and KaVontae Turpin has six.What's left for Prescott to chase?Prescott trails Hall of Famers Troy Aikman (94) and Roger Staubach (85) in victories.But Prescott has said on numerous occasions that is biggest goal is getting the Cowboys a Super Bowl victory. They have not had one since 1995 when Aikman won his third Lombardi Trophy. Staubach won two Super Bowls in the 1970s.
