Earlier this summer, Aalyah Gutierrez (aka Aalyah Mysterio) officially kicked off her professional wrestling journey by reporting for training at the WWE Performance Center, and according to her father Rey, it's going fairly well so far."She's doing good. She's about a month and a weekend of training in, and she picks up very fast," the WWE Hall of Famer told The Sun UK. "But she also gets very frustrated very easy, but it's normal. She wasn't around as much like Dom [was as a kid], backstage playing and hanging out with the boys and the wrestlers and the staff and crew. So she struggles a little bit. She's completely new to the industry in the sense that training, knowing wrestlers, knowing wrestling names, moves, all these little things that if you try to combine everything at once, you're gonna go crazy cause there's so much, so much to learn here! But, she's enjoying it very, very much."After Aalyah obtained a degree in human biology at UCSD in 2025, Rey agreed to let her roll around the Performance Center ring as he went down there to prepare his in-ring return anyway. With her interest in wrestling evident, Aalyah then came back to the PC in February 2026 for a more extensive training session, which ultimately motivated her to continue the path on a full-time basis with WWE.Amidst her ongoing PC training, reports indicated that WWE had added Aalyah, as Aalyah Gutierrez, to its internal roster. Whether Aalyah will carry that name or another one into her official in-ring debut has yet to be seen.
