EmailPrintOpen Extended ReactionsTEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals and wide receiver Michael Wilson have reached an agreement on a three-year, $75 million extension, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Thursday.The extension includes $47 million guaranteed and has a maximum value of $78 million, sources said.Negotiations had slowed after multiple offers from the Cardinals over the past few months but reignited Wednesday, a source told ESPN. Wilson, who had a year left on his rookie deal, is now under contract through the 2029 season.Wilson is coming off his best NFL season in 2025, when he eclipsed 1,000 yards for the first time in his career. He finished with 1,006 yards after starting with just 52 through five games.Talks on Wilson's deal began earlier this offseason and included a number of offers that Wilson's team did not deem sufficient, sources told ESPN. During his training camp news conference in early August, Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort did not seem optimistic a deal would get done."He's a guy that we want around here a long time," Ossenfort said at the time. "There's no question about it. So, I mean, expect, that's a tough word."Wilson, 26, always believed that the market would dictate his contract."I think if you look at the market and guys who have eclipsed 1,000 yards who are outside players, what those guys are getting paid and where that puts you amongst receivers, I think the market speaks for itself," Wilson told ESPN in June. "And I think outside receivers who have gotten 1,000 yards, they're being compensated what the market dictates."The Cardinals' third-round draft pick in 2023, Wilson becomes the third wide receiver in his draft class, along with Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Zay Flowers, to have a 1,000-yard season and reach an extension.
