
EmailPrintOpen Extended ReactionsStan Kroenke, through his company Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE), has reached an agreement to acquire controlling interest in the Los Angeles Angels from Arte Moreno, according to a news release Tuesday.The purchase is expected to be competed in the first quarter of 2027, according to the release."The Angels are a storied franchise anchored in a great market," Stan Kroenke said in a statement. "We look forward to an exciting future with the Angels organization."KSE now owns a team in all four of the major North American sports: The NFL's Rams, NBA's Nuggets, NHL's Avalanche and now the Angels. Kroenke also owns Arsenal of the English Premier League. The Rams, Nuggets, Avalanche and Arsenal have all won a championship in their sport over the last decade."The Moreno Family has been honored to steward the Angels for 23 years and we believe with KSE's experience and success they are the best next owner for the franchise," Moreno said in a statement. "The Angels Organization looks forward to continuing its commitment to the fans, our employees, the players and our business partners."The Angels have struggled through much of Moreno's tenure as owner since he acquired the team in 2003 and have not had a postseason appearance since 2014.
