MJF survived one of the most violent matches of his career at AEW Revolution 2026 but according to Tony Khan, the AEW World Champion wasnt in great shape once he made it backstage. Speaking during the AEW Revolution post-show media scrum on March 15, 2026, Khan was asked about MJFs condition after the violent Texas Death Match against Hangman Adam Page. The AEW President made it clear the champion looked completely battered after the match ended. Khan said MJF was covered in blood from the brutal fight and appeared extremely disoriented when he came through the curtain backstage: He was covered in blood from head to toe. According to Khan, the champion didnt seem fully aware of what was going on around him in the moments after the match. Because of that condition, Khan admitted he isnt sure MJF would currently be medically cleared to wrestle again right away. Despite the concerns, Khan indicated that AEW still planned to capture some reaction from the champion following the match. Khan explained that the company was planning to film comments from MJF after the event despite his condition. Based on what Khan saw backstage, he expects the champions reaction to be memorable: Based on my interaction with him when he came through the curtain, I guess his post-match comments will be quite animated. The Last Chance Texas Death Match saw both men use weapons including broken glass, barbed wire, chains, skewers, tables, and even a syringe during the fight. By the end of the match, both competitors were covered in blood as the battle spilled around the arena and onto the stage. MJF ultimately regained control and choked Hangman Adam Page with a chain connected to a dog collar until Page collapsed, forcing the referee to stop the match. The result allowed MJF to retain the AEW World Championship while also permanently barring Hangman Page from challenging for the title again due to the stipulation. MJF wasted no time celebrating after the fight either. Shortly after the show ended, he jumped on social media and declared the match one of the greatest ever. Even though MJF walked out with the championship, Tony Khans comments suggest the physical toll of the match was severe and could keep the champion sidelined until hes cleared to compete again.
