Wright made a career-high five interceptions last season, along with 11 pass breakups. At 6-foot-4, he's a long, athletic corner that fits what coach Aaron Glenn prefers in a man-to-man scheme.Wright is likely to start opposite Brandon Stephens. On Monday, the Jets acquired former All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick in a trade with the Miami Dolphins.The Jets have overhauled their defense in the first two days of the free agent negotiating period, also adding linebacker Demario Davis, pass rushers Joseph Ossai and Kingsley Enagbare, defensive tackle David Onyemata and safety Dane Belton.The Bears signed Wright to a one-year contract on April 8 last year, one day after he was released by the Minnesota Vikings. With Pro Bowler Jaylon Johnson sidelined throughout training camp, Wright won a starting job at outside corner and continued to see increased playing time as injuries affected the Bears' secondary throughout the season.Wright began his Bears tenure by recording a 74-yard pick-six off Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy in Chicago's season opener. Wright started 16 games in the regular season and both games in the playoffs.Wright, 27, finished second on the Bears with a career-best five interceptions and added two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries on a defense that led the NFL with 33 takeaways.The former Oregon State standout was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round in 2021 and appeared in 33 games for them with three starts over three seasons.
