Pro wrestlers will sometimes change up their gimmicks whenever there is a need to refresh things a bit. Jeff Hardy is no stranger to that, and it appears that he may not be finished with his Willow persona.
Jeff Hardy says he wants to bring back Willow in TNA, and he already has plans in motion for what that could look like in 2026. This character was teased, but never really shown off during his WWE days, but TNA fans remember it fondly.
Hardy shared the update during a live taping of the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast, where he talked about the character and hinted that a return could happen at some point this year.
Willow is not a new idea for Hardy. The character first appeared during Jeff Hardys second run with TNA in 2014. At a time when Hardy was leaning heavily into darker, more theatrical alter ego storytelling.
Willow gave him a way to separate himself from the standard Jeff Hardy presentation, and it also served as a way to shift his feuds into something more character-based rather than just match based. To this day, fans still remember that gimmick fondly, although a Willow vs Fiend match never transpired.
Willow also ended up being connected to a larger trend in Hardys career, because Jeff has always relied on reinvention when his career hits turning points. From the early face paint era in WWE, he was playing with different face paint and other looks. The Willow character gave him a great chance to flex his creative muscle.
Since Jeff Hardy has said he has a new Willow face plate that he designed with his daughter Ruby, it sounds like this would not just be a repeat of the 2014 version. Only time will tell if we see Willow again, but his time in TNA Wrestling is not over yet.
