WWE 2K26 just got one step closer to official with a new ESRB ratingand its now clear this years game will be next-gen only.

The ESRB has officially rated WWE 2K26 as T for Teen, confirming the game includes Blood, Language, Suggestive Themes, and Violence. It also includes In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items) and Users Interact.

But one detail stood out: WWE 2K26 is only listed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. That means theres no PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version this time aroundmarking the end of cross-gen support for the first time in the modern 2K era.

2K Games is going full speed with newer hardware, and that likely means smoother gameplay and flashier visuals across the board. Meanwhile, speculation is ramping up as a new leak via Dealabs Magazine claims WWE 2K26 will release on Friday, March 13, 2026right in the middle of WrestleMania season, as usual. The leak also teases three special editions for diehard fans:

  • Attitude Era Edition
  • Monday Night War Edition
  • King of Kings Edition (featuring Triple H)

As for the Standard Edition cover star? Still a mysterybut reports say CM Punk is reportedly set to be the centerpiece of this years Showcase Mode, putting his career front and center in the games playable story-driven mode.

Fans are already decoding hints from a new teaser video posted by WWE Games, featuring neon-lit locker rooms, backstage graffiti, and props tied to legends like Shawn Michaels. It looks like this years theme will be attitude meets chaos. And while the game hasnt been officially confirmed by WWE or 2K, sources claim a full announcement is dropping January 30, with pre-orders opening that same day. WWE 2K26 is ready to bring the attitudebut its leaving old consoles behind.
