WWE might be gearing up to bring back the Texas Rattlesnakebecause a new report says Stone Cold Steve Austin could be making a return very soon.

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select on January 22, 2026, WWE has had internal discussions about using the Hall of Famer again in the very near future. While the nature of the appearance wasnt disclosed, the timing couldnt be more tellingwith the Royal Rumble just days away and the Road to WrestleMania officially starting.

The last time fans saw Austin in WWE was during WrestleMania 41, where he appeared to announce the combined attendance for both nights. While he didnt get physical, he later explained on The MMA Hour that he was still healing from a total knee replacement surgery in December 2024.

And in a more recent appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet on January 6, 2026, Austin made it clear that while he could physically wrestle, hes not actively planning a return.

Austin also opened up about the toll years of physical punishment took on his body, especially before his knee replacement:

WWE hasnt confirmed whether this return would be for a match, a promo, or even a guest referee role, but fans know Austin is picky about his appearances. Since his successful surprise match against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38 in 2022, the Texas icon has stayed in shape and kept the door open for the right offer.

For now, its safe to say the WWE Universe will be watching every Premium Live Event and episode of Raw or SmackDown closelyjust in case the glass shatters.

Would you want to see Steve Austin have one more matchor should he keep it limited to stunners and segments? Sound off below and drop your dream scenario.
