CJ Perry, formerly known as Lana in WWE, isnt holding back when it comes to a WWE CJ Perry, formerly known as Lana in WWE, is revisiting a WWE 2K19 controversy that first made headlines in 2018when she publicly blasted the games depiction of her character for being completely off the mark.
Back in September 2018, WWE Games revealed Lana as a playable character in WWE 2K19 for the first time. But when Perry saw the in-game modelcomplete with short blonde hair and black bejeweled ring gearshe immediately took to Twitter to call it out. Her blunt reaction went viral:
Fast forward to 2026, Perry addressed the issue again during her Ring the Belle interview, explaining why she was so upset at the time. She made it clear that the outfit and hairstyle featured in the game were never worn on televisiononly during a private backstage photoshoot.
She felt the use of that gear and hairstyle misrepresented her on a large scale, especially considering the impact of being immortalized in a video game. Her main frustration stemmed from not being consulted or given a chance to approve it beforehand.
While CJ admitted she couldve handled the situation with more restraint, she defended her reaction by saying she was still in character at the timeand protecting the brand she worked so hard to build.
