CM Punks life has never been short on dramaboth inside the squared circle and out of it. But during a recent interview promoting his new films Zootopia 2 and Night Patrol, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion revealed how his real-life romance with former WWE star AJ Lee got its startand its as chaotic as youd expect.
The interviewer brought up Punks second stint in WWE and his current run at the top, noting hes doing it all alongside his wife. That sparked a moment of reflection for Punk, who didnt hold back on the wild beginning of their relationship.
We did. Yeah. Yeah. We met our first kiss ever was on screen, Punk revealed, referring to their on-screen storyline from WWEs 2012 programming. When asked who made the first move, Punk didnt hesitate to give credit where it was due.
Only CM Punk would describe a first kiss followed by a table bump like it was just another Tuesday. The couple, known for keeping things low-key outside the ring, have always had a unique dynamicone that seems to perfectly reflect their in-ring personas.
What makes this moment hit harder is the fact that their real relationship grew out of WWEs scripted environment. A kiss on national TV. A bump through a table. And eventually, a marriage that has lasted long past their in-ring storylines.
