TNA Wrestlings huge January 15 debut on AMC delivered surprises, title changes, and big namesbut one major development had fans talking: The IInspiration dropped the Knockouts Tag Team Championships. Now we know why.
According to Fightful Select, Cassie Lee and Jess McKay are officially parting ways with TNA Wrestling. The duo, formerly known as The IInspiration, had not signed long-term contracts with the promotion and had been working under a series of short-term agreements since returning to the company. With those deals now expired, the title drop on AMCs debut episode wasnt just for storylineit was the end of their run.
It was also noted that theres interest in the former WWE stars outside of TNA, which could mean a return to a bigger stage isnt off the table.
Their loss to Heather and M By Elegance marked a changing of the guard in the Knockouts tag division, and it came just moments after Mr. Elegance promised on-screen that his duo would walk out with gold. In a night packed with symbolic moments and resets, this title change turned out to be real businessnot just wrestling theater.
