CM Punk might be one of the most outspoken stars in pro wrestling, but when it comes to his wife AJ Lees WWE return, even he had to take a step back and soak in the moment.
During an interview on NotSam Wrestling, Punk opened up about what it meant to witness AJ Lee walk back into the WWE spotlight. While cameras caught the moment with Punk standing off to the side, visibly emotional the story behind it runs even deeper.
Rather than trying to steal the moment, Punk made it clear this was about AJ and everything she built during her original run. His respect for her legacy couldnt be more clear.
CM Punk didnt just show admiration he acknowledged the foundation AJ Lee laid long before womens wrestling was taken seriously. And now that shes back, hes not trying to take any of the shine. Hes simply grateful to witness it.
Theres a lot of talk about returns in wrestling, but this one clearly hit home for Punk on a personal level and its a rare moment of vulnerability that fans wont soon forget.
