Yota Tsuji just conquered the Tokyo Dome. In an epic Winner Takes All match at Wrestle Kingdom 20, Tsuji defeated Konosuke Takeshita via submission to win the IWGP World Heavyweight and IWGP Global Championships, becoming NJPWs new double champ in a match that delivered pure war from bell to bell.
The bout was hard-hitting, fast-paced, and emotionally charged a true main event. Things started evenly with grappling and shoulder blocks, but Takeshita took early control, locking in tight submissions and hitting his signature Takeshita Line clothesline. But Tsuji fought back with a flurry of body shots, a flying head scissors, and some disrespectful fire that got the crowd behind him.
Once outside, Takeshita showed his vicious side delivering a nasty DDT on the apron and a head-smashing kick while Tsuji was draped over the guardrail. He followed with a top-rope senton and sleeper hold, but Tsuji refused to die.
After countering a corner knee, Tsuji exploded back into the match with a curb stomp, Fosbury Flop, and a diving knee that nearly cracked Takeshitas ribs. The two exchanged brutal strikes and knee shots before Takeshita shocked the crowd by hitting Tsujis own Gene Blaster.
They stared each other down in a mid-match reset before unloading a storm of forearms, elbows, body blows, and signature power moves. Takeshita landed a poisonrana, Super Blue Thunder Bomb, and even his Power Drive, but nothing could keep Tsuji down.
In the final sequence, Tsuji headbutted Takeshita, hit a thunderous Gene Blaster, and locked in a vicious Boston Crab wrenching back with full force until Takeshita had no choice but to tap out in front of a roaring Tokyo Dome crowd.
