Wrestle Kingdom 20 exploded out of the gate with total chaos and a massive title change as Zack Sabre Jr., Ryohei Oiwa, and Hartley Jackson of TMDK walked out of the Tokyo Dome as the new NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions.
The Tornado Ranbo-style opener featured eight full teams brawling for the belts, with the champions (Toru Yano, YOH & Master Wato) entering last but failing to survive the madness.
The match kicked off hot as SANADA, Ren Narita, and Yoshinobu Kanemaru (House of Torture) clashed with Yuya Uemura, Shota Umino, and Kaisei Takechi. That chaos was cut short when the Knockout Brothers Clark Connors, OSKAR, and Yuto-Ice hit the ring and laid into Uminos crew. Yuto-Ice smashed Umino with a brutal bombaclat knee, and OSKAR followed with a massive slam.
TMDK entered fourth, and Zack Sabre Jr. and Oiwa immediately began dissecting Yuto-Ice until Connors dropped Sabre to shift momentum.
The fifth team to enter was Ryusuke Taguchi, Tiger Mask, and Togi Makabe, but their run didnt last. After some heavy striking between Makabe and Boltin Oleg, the sixth team (Oleg, YOSHI-HASHI & Hirooki Goto) cleared the ring, eliminating OSKAR and his Knockout Brothers.
Team 150 Satoshi Kojima, Taichi, and Tomohiro Ishii stormed in next, with Oleg continuing to shine. He pinned Tiger Mask to eliminate that trio, but Ishii answered with a deadlift suplex that dropped Oleg hard.
Finally, the champs entered last Toru Yano, YOH & Master Wato but their odds didnt help. Uemura and Taichi eliminated each other after a back-and-forth scrap, and then YOH hit a low blow on SANADA to eliminate House of Torture. But when YOH went over the top rope, he was eliminated too guaranteeing new champions would be crowned.
In the final stretch, TMDK battled Olegs team, taking turns hammering Zack Sabre Jr. with high-impact shots. Goto connected with a Violent Flash, nearly securing the win but the pin was broken just in time.
Then came the turning point Sabre Jr. countered Oleg and rolled him up for a shocking three-count, crowning TMDK as the new NEVER 6-Man Tag Champs.
