Dwayne The Rock Johnson might be the highest-grossing actor in Hollywood today, but his first day on a movie set almost broke him literally.

During The Hollywood Reporters Actor Roundtable, the former WWE Champion revealed that while filming his first acting role in The Mummy Returns, he was battling intense sickness and freezing in the middle of the scorching Sahara Desert.

Despite being a pro-wrestler trained to power through pain, Johnson admitted he had no idea what to expect as a first-time actor.

That brutal experience lit a creative fire in him that never went out. Though he came from the loud, over-the-top world of WWE, Johnson said wrestling actually helped him prepare for life on a movie set but in ways most people dont expect.

His portrayal of MMA legend Mark Kerr in The Smashing Machine allowed Johnson to tap into emotional territory he rarely explores onscreen.

From freezing in the desert to facing the heat of Hollywood expectations, Dwayne Johnsons journey has been anything but easy. But that first brutal day on set? It changed everything.
