Sammy Guevara isnt waiting around anymore. After watching Bandido earn a shot at MJFs AEW World Championship before he even had the chance, Sammy snappedand now the match is on.
During a backstage segment on AEW Collision, Guevara confronted Bandido and voiced his frustration over Bandido getting the title opportunity first. Instead of talking it out, Sammy challenged him to a singles match. Bandido didnt hesitate to accept, responding that he wouldve said yes if Sammy had just asked.
The two will settle things this Wednesday on the January 7 edition of Dynamite, in a non-title singles match. Theres no gold on the line, but the stakes are clearthis is about pride, momentum, and proving who deserves to be next in line for a shot at the top.
This personal clash comes just days after Bandido defeated Sammys tag team partner, Beast Mortos, on the December 31 Dynamite: New Years Smash special. Tension has clearly been building, and now its all coming to a head.
Before Collision went off the air, another match was added to DynamiteToni Storm vs. Marina Shafir. Storm, fresh off a tag team victory with Mina Shirakawa, now finds herself in a one-on-one situation with a very different kind of threat in the no-nonsense Shafir.
Wednesdays Dynamite is quickly stacking up with key matches, including two bouts that could reshape AEWs immediate future.
