Hechicero is officially the number one contender for the AEW TNT Championship, but how he got there is already stirring backlash.
On the January 3, 2026 episode of AEW Collision, Hechicero went one-on-one with Komander in a TNT Championship number one contenders match. The bout was fast-paced, physical, and evenly matcheduntil El Clon got involved. Just as Komander was setting up for his finishing sequence, El Clon appeared at ringside and interfered behind the referees back, sending Komander crashing to the mat.
Hechicero capitalized immediately, unloading a series of punishing strikes before securing the pinfall. With the victory, Hechicero now moves on to face current TNT Champion Mark Briscoe on the January 10, 2026 episode of Collision.
This will be Hechiceros biggest match since aligning with the Don Callis Family. With the group gaining momentum and using tactics like what fans saw tonight, Briscoe will have to be ready for more than just technical wrestlinghell need eyes in the back of his head.
The story doesnt end there. Komanders unfinished business with El Clon is clearly heating up, and with the Don Callis Family making their presence felt in every segment, AEWs singles landscape is shifting fast.
Do you think Hechicero deserves the title shot after the way he won? And will Mark Briscoe be able to stop the Don Callis Familys rise? Sound off in the comments below.
