Despite being without Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, and Lucas Glover, Atlanta Drive still managed to win their sixth consecutive TGL match thanks to a monumental eagle by Billy Horschel in a rematch of the final against New York, in the midst of a Season 2 marked by several new features.
There were many changes for TGL Season 2, with new virtual holes, a new green, and some format adjustments designed to further enhance the spectacle.
But there was also a revamped roster for Atlanta Drive GC: Justin Thomas was unavailable after back surgery, and Patrick Cantlay and Lucas Glover were last-minute withdrawals.
This didn't stop the Atlanta team from starting TGL Season 2 as they had finished the first: with a hard-fought victory in the final moments against New York GC, featuring Xander Schauffele, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Cameron Young.

"I did it again," said the Floridian, still as comfortable as ever at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. "When you're faced with something so different, something you never could have imagined, it creates an almost childlike atmosphere, something completely new, something fun that you want to be a part of."
The 2025 Finals repeat, almost identical scenario: Atlanta took the lead, let New York come back, then made the difference in the final shots, this time with the addition of one-night stand Chris Gotterup alongside Billy Horschel and Corey Conners.

Patrick Cantlay, who had demonstrated great mastery of the Hammer strategy during season 1, acted as a commentator from the stands, alongside his teammate Justin Thomas. Thomas spent most of his time teasing New Yorker Xander Schauffele about everything from the specifics of his swing to the color of his shirt.

Prior to that, "JT" had joined his teammates for a pre-game ceremony during which a banner commemorating Atlanta's 2025 title was raised in the stands of the SoFi Center. "Being the first winner is very important," he commented. "They can't take that banner away from us."
