Serena Williams' former coach Rennae Stubbs wasn't impressed at all with the Aryna Sabalenka and Nick Kyrgios match, ripping it as "a money grab,"

On Sunday, a highly-anticipated Battle of the Sexes meeting between the top-ranked WTA player and the 2022 Wimbledon finalist took place.

Sabalenka dropped a few service games early on, but twice managed to get the break and have the first set tied to three games apiece before Kyrgios went on to claim back-to-back breaks and take the opener. In the second set, the Belarusian went 3-1 up early before dropping the next five games as the Australian completed a 6-3 6-3 win.

The match wasn't played in standard format. Sabalenka's court size was reduced by 9 percent and the second serve was removed.

Stubbs, who won six Grand Slam doubles during her career and assisted Williams during the American's farewell, didn't watch the match but caught some off through social media.

Stubbs: It was a money grab for both players and their management group

"Lets just call it was it was, shall we. It was a money grab for both players and their management group. Entertaining? You decide. Important? No. No top woman can compete with a good male player, its NOT PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE! But $$$ got got! So I hope it was worth it," the former six-time Grand Slam doubles champion wrote on X.

In a follow-up post, Stubbs added more.

Sabalenka and Kyrgios are both managed by EVOLVE sports agency.
