The Timberwolves are one of the most inconsistent teams in the league and guard Donte DiVincenzo has tried to pinpoint his teams issues.
The perfect example came this week when Minnesota took down defending champs Oklahoma City, then went on to win two more games against the Bucks and the Knicks.
But things took a turn when they went down to the 10-19 Nets.
DiVincenzo tried to explain why its hard for the Wolves to keep their identity of a championship level team for every game.
I truly dont know, like we cant have these peaks and valleys, like its frustrating, DiVincenzo said, via Wolves reporter Andrew Dukowitz. You give them credit, no disrespect to the opponent but its a team we are supposed to come in and handle business, and do what were supposed to do they played with more energy, but thats the type of team that they are, but they are that. We have spurts that thats what we can do but its not necessarily who we are, but thats who we need to become. So we cant get too low on this but we have to address it we have to hold that, we cant just go off against OKC then come in against Brooklyn and just get punked. So we have to look ourselves in the mirror.
He was also askedwhat seems to be different for this team in correcting the energy problems versus other teams he has played for.
We have it in us what they [Brooklyn] are is a hard playing team, and if they dont play hard youll see they get blown out, he said. We have talent up and down the roster where we can come in and win some games based off of talent and shot making. If we have that and were playing hard, this is a game were supposed to come in and handle business by 15, 20 points we cant just look at the season like its a failure but we have to address it for what it is and we have to become what we know we can, we cant rely on talent every night the energy has to be there, every night the competitive spirit has to be there, we cant be up and down on a night to night basis.
Right now, the Wolves are 20-12 and sixth seed in the East.
