Mick Foley is officially on his way out of WWEand now speculation is building about whether the hardcore legend could pop up in AEW next.
After a public fallout with WWE over the companys continued ties to Donald Trump, Foley announced he would no longer make appearances while Trump remains in office. He later confirmed he wont be renewing his Legends contract when it expires in June 2026:
That exit has raised questions about what Foley might do nextif anything. While no deal is in place, Fightfuls Sean Ross Sapp acknowledged that AEW owner Tony Khan has shown interest in Foley in the past.
Nothing is confirmed, but that one comment has fans wondering if Foley could appear in AEW at some point in the futureespecially once hes no longer under contract with WWE. Adding more fuel to the conversation, Foley previously revealed that AEWs MJF once pitched a program that nearly brought him out of retirement. Speaking at FanX 2025, Foley said:
He ultimately turned it down, citing the risk of re-injuring his hip and knee replacements. But with that MJF proposal on the record and his WWE ties severed, the idea of Foley appearing in AEWin any capacityis now being openly discussed among fans online.
At this point, its all just speculation. But given Foleys history, his outspoken nature, and his respect within the industry, its speculation that carries weight.
