The idea of Stephen Curry finishing his career anywhere other than Golden State once felt unthinkable.
But, the Warriors current trajectory has opened the door to a conversation that once sounded absurd: sending Curry home to Charlotte, according to Bill Simmons.
Are we at the point where Curry to Charlotte, we should just do it? Simmons asked on a recent episode of his podcast. Can the league intervene? I dont want to upset the fans. I dont want to trade Steph Curry on Christmas. But he grew up there, his dads there, theres shots of him on the court as a kid, hes always joked about ending his career there. I just dont think this Warriors team has a chance. We just saw Draymond blow up last time. Can we just like do the LaMelo and a bunch of picks and send Curry back to Charlotte, and lets just go, lets do this?

The Charlotte connection has always lingered in the background of Currys career.
While born in Cleveland, he grew up in North Carolina during his father Dell Currys long stint with the Hornets, a franchise where Dell became a beloved figure and eventual all-time leading scorer.
Simmons guest, ESPN analyst Tim Legler, took the hypothetical even further, focusing on what Curry could mean for Charlottes future rather than just its nostalgia.
Think about what youre saying now, Legler said. Youre talking about Splash Brothers 2.0 with Curry and Knueppel, like its the new version of that.
