Danielle Collins reveals that she is undergoing an egg-freezing procedure and that she will miss the Australian Open because she still has one more procedure to complete.
A couple of years ago, the 32-year-old American disclosed that she was diagnosed with endometriosis - a chronic condition.
In early 2024, Collins announced that it would be her final season in pro tennis. At the time, the American very openly spoke about her condition and noted that she wanted to fully focus on tackling it as much as possible. Also, she admitted that becoming a mother was one of her biggest goals, but that endometriosis was making it difficult.

Collins has since made a U-turn on her retirement decision, but has kept undergoing treatments for her condition. And now, she has started an egg-freezing process in the hope of achieving her motherhood dreams.
Collins: Egg-freezing has been one of the coolest things I have ever done
"Wanted to come on here and give everyone a little update since everyone has been asking. I've been taking the last few months off to recover from the back injury I had at the end of the season. I've also been undergoing a few egg freezing procedures. It's been one of the coolest things I've honestly ever done! But at the same time these hormones I have had to be on are a real b----. I am so fortunate for the friends that have been helping take care of me during this time. I have one more procedure to go," the American wrote on Instagram.

In the same post, Collins confirmed that she would miss the start of the 2026 season. However, the world No. 64 also shared that she would join Tennis Channel as an analyst for the upcoming tournaments.
Collins didn't play much this year as she appeared in only 29 matches and posted a 15-14 record.
