As Danhausens AEW contract nears its end, WWE is already being discussed as a potential next destinationbut not everyone in the company is on the same page about bringing him in.

According to WrestleVotes during a Q&A session, opinions within WWE are currently split when it comes to signing Danhausen once he becomes a free agent in February 2026. While some see value in his character and fanbase, others are less convinced.

The update comes just days after Fightful Select reported that Danhausens AEW contract is now set to expire in February 2026. Although the deal was initially supposed to end in mid-2025, AEW quietly extended it due to injury, against Danhausens wishes.

Sources say he wanted the contract to lapse so he could reclaim more control over his independent bookings and merchandise. Despite the extension, Danhausen hasnt returned to AEW programming and hasnt even been backstage for quite some time.

With no recent creative plans for him in AEW and no backstage presence in months, Danhausens exit seems imminentand a potential WWE run hangs in the balance, depending on which side of the locker room wins out.

Should WWE take a chance on Danhausens brand of very nice, very evil chaos? Or is he better suited for staying in the indies? Sound off in the comments.
