On the December 20th edition of AEW Collision, Mercedes Mons open challenge for the RevPro Undisputed British Womens Championship got a surprise answer from Alex Windsorand the result was just as shocking.
Windsor took control early, locking in a submission hold on Mon while she was trapped on the ring apron. Mon attempted to shift momentum by going for the Three Amigos, but Windsor managed to counter it before Mon could complete the move.
As the match continued, Mercedes tried to take things airborne, heading to the top rope. But Windsor responded with a devastating headbutt that knocked Mon off balance. From there, Windsor landed a neckbreaker-DDT combo across the ropes, keeping the pressure on the champion.
Windsor looked to seal the win by locking in a Scorpion Deathlock, but Mercedes reversed it into a submission of her own. As Windsor tried to power out, Mon transitioned into a crucifix driver, gaining a near fall.
Later in the match, Mon again went for a top-rope DDT, but Windsor cut her off. After a hard-hitting exchange, Mercedes attempted to finish things with her Mon Makerbut Windsor rolled her up out of nowhere for the shocking pinfall victory. With that, Alex Windsor is now the new RevPro Undisputed British Womens Champion, ending Mercedes Mons reign.
AEW fans werent expecting Mon to drop the title, let alone on Collision, but Windsor proved herself a legitimate threat with a breakout performance on a big stage and fans couldnt be happier.
