There are a lot of big movies in the pipeline, but one future release slated for 2026 will garner the interest of video game fans and the WWE Universe. Now, we have a sneak peek at Street Fighter.
The stars of the new Street Fighter live-action film appeared at The Game Awards at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles to debut the first sneak peek of the project. The appearance included a first look at all seventeen characters in the upcoming feature. The cast members arrived onstage to introduce the preview to the audience.
The group included Noah Centineo as Ken, Andrew Koji as Ryu, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, Joe Roman Reigns Anoai as Akuma, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Andrew Schulz as Dan, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Orville Peck as Vega, Olivier Richters as Zangief, Rayna Vallandingham as Juli, Mel Jarson as Cammy, and Jason Momoa as Blanka and producer. Cody Rhodes is also in the film as Guile, but he wasnt at the sneak peek.
The new Street Fighter film is produced by Legendary Pictures and distributed by Paramount. The film is scheduled for theaters on October 16, two 2026. Kitao Sakurai is taking the helm as the director of this big budget movie. Roman Reigns also posted on social media to hype the movie.
Street Fighter has a long history in film. The first live-action version arrived in 1994 with Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia in leading roles. Another project titled Street Fighter The Legend of Chun-Li followed in 2009 with a new cast and a new timeline. Both films drew interest due to the global reach of the Street Fighter brand, but neither were massive hits with the fanbase of the groundbreaking video game franchise.
Only time will tell how the upcoming Street Fighter movie will be received. We will be keeping our eyes peeled for any new information. Especially because Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes are going to be a big part of the film.
