The future of John Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton is an interesting topic. The two joined LIV Golf last year, knowing they would be fined for participating in LIV events without DP World Tour approval. While LIV Golf has paid their fines until now, this will change from next year. Last year in September, this duo filed an appeal with the sports arbiter regarding the penalties.
Due to the delay in the process, the case was adjourned, which allowed them to compete in the Ryder Cup this year.
However, it is difficult to give a real answer as to whether they will be able to perform at the Ryder Cup in two years. The latest information says that in April 2026, a final judgment could be made, which probably will not be positive for the two.
However, LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neill hopes things won't be so negative, noting that he is having constructive discussions with the CEO of the DP World Tour. Scott ONeill wants the future of golf to be positive and for all participants to focus solely on the sport and its future, rather than their own interests.

"This is something that needs to be settled, and I'm looking forward to that day," O'Neil told TS of the Rahm and Hatton situation.
"We're having constructive conversations with Guy Kinnings [the DP World Tour chief executive] and his team.
"We are hoping that before the season starts, we can all come together in the best interest of golf and put this behind us."
What will happen?
It seems that John Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton have made it much harder for themselves to make it to the Ryder Cup, and whether this case will have a positive outcome for them remains to be seen.
LIV leaders want to do everything they can to ensure their players have a positive experience in this league, but they are also aware that it is sometimes difficult to succeed in your ideas when you know how much public resistance there is to you.
