Andy Roddick thinks the option of competing at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics may look appealing to Serena Williams, as well as the prospect of teaming up with her sister Venus.

Since the news broke out that Williams was reinstated into the ITIA's doping testing pool, there have been numerous speculations and theories about how it could all look if the former world No. 1 indeed decided to return to pro tennis at 44. Although the former 23-time Grand Slam champion herself denied the comeback rumors, the public remains unconvinced as the general belief is that she simply wouldn't made herself available to the anti-doping authorities if she didn't want to return, or at least give herself a comeback option.

In 2022, Williams won two US Open singles matches just before her 42nd birthday. Asked about the prospect of the American possibly competing at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, Roddick threw out the possibility of the former world No. 1 possibly looking to pull off a Tom Brady and LeBron James in women's sports.

Roddick on Williams possibly playing the next Olympics and teaming up with Venus

I have two thoughts about the Olympics thing. One of the biggest things thats happened in tennis and sports. With [Tom] Brady and LeBron James], the timeline for when a sunset of a career is here has been blown up. Venus, comes back at 45 and wins a match this summer, is playing fine, made a run at doubles at the US Open. You just mentioned the Olympics two and a half years away like Serena isnt 44, thats insane, yeah its crazy," Roddick said on his podcast.

But the most innocent version of speculation, I dont believe this is the only option that shes interested in, but Venus played great, she played really well in doubles, she and Leylah Fernandez were phenomenal at the US Open. Maybe shes going, you know who else is pretty good? Maybe theres a world where Venus is eventually going to stop playing. What better way to celebrate than next to your sister?

Pure conjecture, I dont know anything."

Venus Williams played a total of five singles matches this year and her lone win came against world No. 63 Peyton Stearns. The 45-year-old enjoyed much more success in doubles, reaching the US Open quarterfinal with Leylah Fernandez.
