What shouldve been a spotlight moment for Zayda Steel turned into a production blunder during Ring of Honor: Final Battle Zero Hour.
Steel, a former WWE ID recruit, was making her ROH in-ring debut against Leila Grey when the broadcast abruptly cut awayright in the middle of the match. As Steel had Grey in a leg hold, the YouTube pre-show stream suddenly cut to the Zero Hour logo without any warning or explanation. When the feed returned, it had already moved on to a backstage promo. The match was never shown again.
There was no finish aired, no post-match recap, and no acknowledgment of the sudden cut. The timing couldnt have been worse. With growing interest in Steel following her WWE departure, ROH had a prime opportunity to feature her on a free pre-show platform. Instead, her entire debut match was cut shortleaving viewers confused and disappointed.
This wasnt an isolated hiccup either. The entire Zero Hour stream was plagued with poor audio quality, adding to fan frustration. But while fans were trying to power through the tinny sound, having a full match disappear was a step too far.
ROH failed to deliver the one thing a wrestling broadcast must get right: the match itself. If the company wants to position itself as a serious national brand, showcasing new talent like Zayda Steel without interruption should be non-negotiable.
