Dec. 3 update: Dyson Daniels stealing his way into top 25
Dyson Daniels is in the top 25 of this week's category rankings, but he is only 75th in the points rankings. Why such a big difference? Because of the steals. Daniels led the NBA in steals last season, and he is currently leading the league this season as well. In category leagues, blocked shots and steals are the two scarcest stats. That makes them the two categories where a single player can typically make the largest difference in your fantasy teams' place in the standings. The Player Rater values his steals more than it does any single player's scoring contributions except for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Tyrese Maxey, more than Nikola Jokic's rebounds and more than any single players' free-throw efficiency. That Dyson also has modest but positive contributions in just about every counting category helps his overall ranking, but it is his steals that ultimate make him a bigger impact player in category versus points leagues.
