Rory McIlroy and his Masters victory is certainly a highlight of this season. The golfer who has been waiting for such a feat and completing a career Grand Slam has managed to achieve his long-standing goal. The Northern Irish golfer probably felt pressure like he has never experienced before in his golf career, and playing with such a role and pressure in the final round of the Masters is certainly a difficult task.
Of particular note was Rory McIlroy's refusal to talk to his opponent, Bryson DeChambeau. Looking at the situation from this perspective, McIlroy points out that such moments brought immense tension and that he felt like he was going to throw up.
The ghosts of the 2024 US Open and his defeat by DeChambeau haunted him, but Rory, focused on the final round of the Masters, reveals that he would like to turn back time, aware that he could have finished the job earlier.

I never want to feel like that on a golf course again. Your legs are weak, you feel like you want to throw up.
Honestly, I thought going into that day that the biggest challenge for me was going to be playing with Bryson. That ended up not being what it was. I felt like I overcame that part of it and what happened at Pinehurst the year before.
But I said afterwards the battle that day was with myself. I wish I stood on that 13th tee with a four or five shot lead and Id love to be inthat position again to see if I could finish it off the right way."- he said.
Rory's story
Although some expected that Rory could end the story much earlier than it happened, McIlroy admits that it is precisely such a rollercoaster of emotions that makes this moment special. The 36-year-old still hopes to win a few more Masters and thus achieve even greater success in his career.

I think if I was ever going to win The Masters my journey in that tournament, there was never going to be a way where I won The Masters were it was going to be smooth sailing. It was always going to be this rollercoaster and it probably was the appropriate way for it to happen.
But the nice thing with winning The Masters is you get to go back every year, and Id love to have another chance to win another one.
