Martina Trevisan believes Aryna Sabalenka made a courageous statement ahead of the Battle of the Sexes and the 2022 French Open semifinalist admits she will fully cheer for the Belarusian when she meets the Australian in a highly-anticipated match.
During the US Open, rumors started to swirl around that Sabalenka and Kyrgios - who are represented by the same agency - were working on organizing a match. At the time, it was also reported that it would likely take place in the United Arab Emirates in late 2025 or early 2026.
And on November 4th, it was officially confirmed that a Sabalenka and Kyrgios match would happen. Dubai's Coca-Cola Arena was picked as the location and December 28th as the date.

During a chat with Alexander Bublik, Kyrgios said that he would probably easily handle Sabalenka and win sets by dropping a game or two. The top-ranked WTA player responded by stating that she would play to win.
Trevisan: Sabalenka showed to Kyrgios that she has a lot of confidence
"Yeah, Aryna is going to play Nick. He said, 'You have to be scared of me,' and Aryna answered showing a lot of confidence. I will cheer for Aryna, of course," Trevisan told CLAY.
While the majority of tennis fans are excited about the upcoming Battle of the Sexes, there is also a group of people who don't think it is a good idea and could possibly portray women's tennis in a negative light if the WTA world No. 1 easily loses.

"I think when there are smiles and good behavior, its always goodnot only for sport, but for people. Its going to be fun," former world No. 18 Trevisan said.
Trevisan, who underwent foot surgery in March and plummeted to No. 702 in the world, was also asked if she would be willing to clash against a male player one day.
"Yes. Why not?!" Trevisan responded.
Trevisan returned to action in July and played mainly in the WTA 125 (Challenger) tournaments toward the end of 2025.
