Novak Djokovic is a living legend of the sport and his desire to continue competing at the highest level leaves everyone speechless, considering that he has broken almost every record and does not need to prove anything more.
The Serbian legend who ended a 2025 season with which he can be quite satisfied (with two titles won and a place in the Top 5 of the ATP ranking at the end of the year) has repeatedly reiterated his intention to continue competing on the professional tour as long as he feels the right motivation.
The 38-year-old from Belgrade is perfectly aware that his chances of winning another Grand Slam title are much lower than a few years ago especially due to the dominance established by Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner but he loves playing in the most prestigious stadiums in the world too much and recently confided that he would like to represent his Serbia at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.

Djokovic avoids GOAT debate
The former world No.1's 2025 ended earlier than expected, as he decided to skip the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin for the second year in a row wanting to recharge his batteries. For this reason, the 24-time Grand Slam champion has declared that he wants to end his season after his triumph at the Athens ATP 250 (the number 101 of his amazing career).
In a long interview with top British journalist Piers Morgan, Nole revealed that he doesn't feel comfortable when they ask him about the GOAT: "I've often been asked this question listing the various statistics, but the truth is that I'm not in the right position to address this topic. It would also be disrespectful to all the rivals I've had during my career. I consider myself a huge tennis fan and I respect all the eras before mine."

Djokovic also added: "It's not easy to compare different eras with each other, because tennis has undergone many changes over the years in terms of equipment, balls, surfaces and technology. Everything became more professional."
