Marcos Baghdatis reveals his retirement life is going as well as possible, as the 2006 Australian Open finalist says he enjoys being a family man and getting rid of all the stress that he faced during his playing days.

Baghdatis, who turned pro in 2003, walked away from pro tennis after losing in the 2019 Wimbledon second round to Matteo Berrettini. The Cypriot's biggest success came early in his career, when he made his maiden Australian Open final in 2006 before losing to Roger Federer. Also, he reached the Wimbledon semifinal that same year and achieved a career-high ranking of No. 8 in the world.

Early in his career, Baghdatis also started dating ex-Croatian tennis star Karolina Sprem. They tied the knot in 2012 and have since welcomed three children together.

Baghdatis: I now live a normal and simple life, not a hectic like I used to

I enjoy [being retired] a lot. I miss it also at the same time, but I enjoy it because I have a family, three beautiful children, healthy children and there is a lot of day-to-day stuff that we do with them, to see them grow, to see them being happy; thats a nice life. Thats just a normal, simple, not hectic life like we used to have when we were travelling from place to place. Not so stressful it is stressful, but in a different way (laughs). But yeah, its just lovely to be back home and to enjoy a simple life with not so much traveling," the 40-year-old told Tennis365.

During his career, Baghdatis won four ATP titles. However, all of those titles on the main stage came early in his career as his last title came nine years before he retired - the Cyprion won the 2010 Sydney title after beating Richard Gasquet in the final.
